In my view, technology is embodied knowledge. (Okay, let's not quibble too much over "embodied": I'm including such things as software/algorithms.) Nonetheless, conscious constructs to aid in tasks, usually with the goal of extending or adding to human capabilities.
So yes—while colloquially we tend to associate technology with complex mechanical or electronic systems, I tend to see a meaninful definition as much broader.
Technology is a tool that is used to solve problems or is something that is used for a specific function. It is also something that is used as a communication tool. Technology is used to advance mankind. In the beginning of time pictures were used to communicate with one another. Then the written alphabet was introduced which advanced mankind to communicate with one another. Weapons are another form of technology. It was first used to hunt animals to eat. Throughout time, it became useful to hurt each other, take over countries, and is seen as a power status.
Technology includes tools and apparatuses that allow you to complete a task. Technology helps make completing such tasks easier and faster and is therefor a more effective means of doing something. Without technology some everyday activities would not even be conceivable because there would be no way to accomplish them. Technology is also a means of bringing people together and is a key component in the globalization of industries and social networking.
Technology is anything that has been introduced that human beings are not accustomed to. Over time technology has evolved. When I was a child we had vcr's, then progressed to dvd's and now we are watching blue ray's in high definiton. In my opinion technology is any invention that is new and is brought forth to either enhance an old invention or completely phase it out. For example, books are now beginning to become eBooks. This is how technology works.
Prior the class I thought of technology as cutting edge tools that are being created and developed. however based on the descussion we are having in class i think that technologies don't have to be new discoverys they can be ordinary tools like a desk that you use. But i think that this is a very general definition. And when you read about technologies in the newspaper or when you use it in conversation they are talking about new devolopments or things that can be plugged in
Technology is many things and is probably something beyond what I immediately understand, but at this point in time I believe technology is defined as the human-made things, objects, artifacts that surround the human. A brochure is a form of technology, even though it's not digital, for example, because a person can interact with it--as in read, fold, and carry the brochure. Technology doesn't have to be about "technical" issues or necessarily mechanical. It needs to be made by a human and to be an interactive object. What about digital information? Digital things are made by human and leave a binary residue, therefore they too are technological artifacts.

The computer would be considered a technology because it was of everyday use to people.I generally think of technology as being something electronic but that may not be the case; I am not really sure. In my opinon a pencil can be a technology just as a computer can be.

It can be computers and cell phones or it can be a book. It's things that we create to help better ourselves and our culture and society.

This definition describes my personal opinion of what "technology" is; technology is a tool, in other words. A scarf can be considered a technology, because the knowledge that wrapping cloth around one's neck results in rising of body temperature has been used to create a tool to induce warmth. In short, technology is the implementation of information or knowledge.
